Evening Classes: Schedule Coming Soon!
We're working on evening class schedules! Think of this as a friendly 'coming soon' announcement while we get our ducks in a row.
The Short Version
We’re still working out evening class times, but we wanted to share what we’re thinking while the ideas are fresh. Consider this our “work in progress” announcement!
Thank You!
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who’s already shown interest in these seminars. Your enthusiasm keeps us motivated (and reminds us we’re onto something good).
A Fun Word Break: “Boojum”
Speaking of things that sound made-up but aren’t - today’s vocabulary gem is “boojum.” It means chasing after something that sounds great but might lead you down a rabbit hole. (Thanks to wordsmith.org for the daily brain candy!)
Don’t worry - our evening classes are definitely NOT a boojum. We’re the real deal, just working out the logistics.
What’s Coming Next
We’re eager to hear from you! Your interest helps us figure out the best times and venues for evening sessions. After all, we want to work around your schedule, not the other way around.
Why We’re Doing This
Here’s the thing: I believe you should be in control of YOUR data on YOUR devices. Technology displaced me from my previous career, so I figure it’s only fair that I put it to work helping others navigate the digital world!
We’re not trying to replace Microsoft or anyone else - we’re just here to help you understand why things work the way they do. Plus, if we can save a few computers from becoming electronic waste while we’re at it, that’s a bonus.
The Academic Connection
During my time at Central Michigan University, I learned that language and technology are what help societies grow. The more we can communicate effectively with each other, the happier and more satisfied we all become.
Of course, sometimes new technology requires more brain power than we have available at 2 PM on a Tuesday - and that’s exactly why these classes exist!
Current Schedule (The Daytime Version)
Right now, we have 4 days scheduled with two identical afternoon sessions. Why? Because that’s when we could get the room! (Sometimes the simplest explanations are the best ones.)
Your interest in evening sessions will help us make the case for additional time slots. The more people who want evening classes, the easier it becomes to convince venues to open their doors after 5 PM.
The Bottom Line
I’m looking forward to these sessions - both to share what I know and to learn from all of you. This whole effort started because technology kept changing the rules on me. My goal is to help our community navigate these changes with less frustration and more confidence.
Whether you join us for afternoon or evening sessions, we’ll keep things casual, practical, and maybe even a little fun. After all, if we can’t enjoy learning together, what’s the point?
Questions? Suggestions? Just want to chat? Don’t hesitate to reach out. Your input helps make these sessions better for everyone.
